Most of you are now probably aware that each state has specific regulations and guidelines when it comes to the current pandemic. Indiana is not unique in this regard. At Wabash Valley Children’s Dentistry, we are doing everything in our power to keep all of our essential functions open, while keeping the health of you and your families in mind when making any decision. We wanted to take a minute to assure you that your overall health is our top priority, and provided you can still make it to our office safely, keeping up with your dental care is a crucial part of staying healthy. We can assure you that we monitor regulations and guidelines put in place by the State of Indiana, as well as local government on a daily basis.
There are several protocols and technologies we’ve implemented to make our environment one of the safest in the area:
-Our procedures for appointments have changed to alleviate some of the risks involved inherently with interacting with people. We have set up a system which allows each patient to call from his or her vehicle upon arrival for the appointment. A staff member will meet you at your vehicle to bring you into the building. This allows for less contact with other people and avoids an extremely crowded waiting room.
-We place strong emphasis on the use of PPE for staff (masks, gowns etc.)
-We now require masks for anyone entering the office.
-We thoroughly sterilize areas in between patients (we have always done this, however, we now allow the room to sit for extra time before and during sterilization to give any lingering aerosols time to disappear).
This is not the first time we have talked to our patients about the link between oral health and health overall. However, with flu season upon us, and winter ahead, we wish to emphasize the importance of keeping up with your routine care at all of your health care providers. If you have any questions about our mitigation protocols or your dental treatment, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
